Morgan Levings of Bayfield races down a straightaway during the Colorado Cowboy Challenge Race in Ignacio. The race is sanctioned by the Extreme Cowboy Association and is part of this year’s Ignacio Rocky Mountain Horse Expo.
Twister Heller of Congress, AZ put six weeks on Salty when he was two years old. After that Salty was only used for pasture breeding for the next seven years. This spring Morgan Levings started riding him. After his seven year break he never offered to buck and acted like he had been ridden the whole time. He was rode some this summer in between breeding. Morgan competed on Salty at the Colorado Cowboy Challenge and tied for first place. Salty couldn't have done any better for the first time competing.
